Polished Brass
The high polished brass elements at this facility included elevators, entranceways, revolving and swing doors, and transom window frames. The initial refinishing consisted of the removal of all previous clear coatings;elimination or minimization of any scratches where necessary through the use of different grades of jewellers' rouge and buffing wheels; and polishing the brass with fine, non-abrasive pastes to remove all oxidation and restore the original high polished finish. Multiple coats of clear sealer were then applied. Subsequent to this restoration, a maintenance program was implemented.
